A3D Delivers Computers and Sewing Machines in Africa Print E-mail

In January of 2007, members and Directors of A3D traveled to Senegal to do what they do best - help people.  With funds raised from their CultureFest and Hope For The Holidays events, as well as from locals in the North Shore area of Massachusetts and beyond, they were able to help two organizations in ways beyond what they imagined:

AEDEC - A3D delivered 10 brand new computers, a network, laser printers, and a lot of hope to the AEDEC school in Dakar, Senegal.  That simple offering made computer technologies available to over 1600 students who previously had no computer access at all.  AEDEC, seemingly overnight, rose in the ranks among all other schools in the country by becoming the first public school to have such learning tools available to their students.  Even the President of Senegal, Abdoulaye Wade, took notice.  The students of AEDEC were so grateful that they named the computers after the Directors of A3D.

Les 3D - This noble group needs working sewing machines in order to continue bringing sewing and fabric skills to Senegal's underprivileged women so that they may provide for themselves.  A3D took note of that need and furnished 10 brand new sewing machines.  Each sewing machine is capable of being powered by electricity, or by foot pedal when electricity is not available (which is often the case).  Les 3D staff and students were overwhelmed with joy when they were presented with these gifts.

We at A3D would like to thank everyone who has contributed to our success stories.  We cannot do it without your continued support.
